Goof-Balls x3

My kids are SOOOOO cute!

Matthew called me and Brooklyn GOOF-BALLs today. Shocked, I called him a goof-ball right back. He shook his head and said, no mommy- "you a goof-ba and I a big kid" and I said, "oh really? Ok, Me and Brooklyn will be GOOF-BALL buddies- ok Brooklyn?"

She shook her head and said so very clearly, "No mom, I no goof ba- I a big gur!"

kids say the darnedest things

I went to pick my kids up today from the sitter- Matthew runs straight to the front yard where the daycare has a patch of dirt (perfect for little 3 year old boys), Brooklyn holds my hand- looks up and says "i go flay in de durt ok mom?" confused, i ask her- "flay? oh do you mean play?" "uh huh mom! - i go flay in de durt too, ok?"

ok, i let her 'flay' for a minute ONLY because she asked so clearly and nicely. :o)

Then Brooklyn says on the way home today; "i wuv McDonalds mom, i go McDonalds mom?" i tell her no and she gets a big pout on her face as she stares out the window. " i wuv ife cream mom? mom? mom? MOM! I want ife cream peeeeeeze?" "oh Brooklyn, you're asking so nicely- but mom doesn't have any ice cream, let's go home and have dinner ok?" she lets out a big -sssssigh "mom? mom? mom? MOM! I miff gramma, I kiff gramma? I hug gramma? I talk gramma on my sef phone?" I look back at her and she has her head tilted to her left shoulder as she pretends her left hand is a cell phone to her ear. I smile as I say "You wanna talk to your gramma on my cell phone?" a big gleam in her eyes came on her face as she grinned from ear to ear. i called my mother-in-law and told her what brooklyn wanted to say. oh, but brooklyn wanted to talk all by herself. :o) so i let her. Donna was tickled i'm sure. brooklyn was so pleased that she got something she asked for.

Matthew starts to roll down his window, I can see his hair blowing like crazy in the wind through my rear view mirror. Plus, it's kinda chili out. I say to him "Matt! It's too windy!" Matthew looks at me like I'm crazy and says - no windy mom, Branden at home. Now I'm confused, I repeat what I said, "Matt! It's too windy outside!". Now he seems to understand as he says- "But mom- I wuv windy!" it took me a second but i think i know why he mentioned Branden, Wendy is Branden's girlfriend's name!

When we get home, the 1st thing my kids do is run to the kitchen. Brooklyn rushes to the potty prize jar that holds her Christmas candy and says "i go potty mom, i go potty all day mom! i get canny... peeeeeeze?" i give in and let her have a candy- Matthew says, "I want beckfas for dinner mom!" as i see him grab the pancake mix from the pantry. I'm telling you, those kids being so cute after i'm gone all day make me wanna give into EVERYTHING they ask for! I actually almost made him pancakes, but he was happy with mac n cheeseydogs (thank god!)

Brooklyn and Matthew are taking a bath as I clean up the mess that Brook made during her accident. (it's ALLLL OVER the bathroom!!! ugh!) Matthew takes the cocoa colored washcloth and drapes it over the faucet. Next thing you know, I catch him saying, "you so bootiful - you are cute" he's got his left hand on the underside neck of the faucet and his right hand barely touching the washcloth appearing as 'hair' to the faucet. My son is practicing his 'lady skills' early! :oP (and on a brunette no less! haha. As soon as he see's me watching him, he chuckles a bashful laugh as he shy's away from me. my son is embarrassed. lol.

As I tuck the kids in bed and say good night Brooklyn won't let me leave until I sing her a lullabye- And the way I know she wants me to sing is not by what she says, it's HOW she says it. "Mom, Mom, MOM, MOM!" She screams. She takes her little fingers and waves them slowley in the air and starts to sing softly. She's mimicking me when I sing her to sleep. (I stroke her face softley as I sing her the song my mom sang to me. This always helped me relax and fall asleep.)"Two Times- ok mom?" I, of course, sing her 3 songs. Only because she asks me. :o)

As I go into my son's room- Matthew says to me, "Mom, i drink my stawbewwy milk too fast- my big belly hurt now." he sticks out his belly, bows his head and looks up with his puppy dog eyes. i can't help but laugh at him a little. he then points to his mouth and says "i have hiccups now." I chuckle slightly as i realize I JUST understood EVERYTHING he said, plus- I didn't know he knew what a hiccup was! (mind you, he did not have the hiccups but HE thinks he did!) lol. I tell him softly that if he goes to bed he'll feel better. He confirms, "I go to bed and i got no more hiccups?" I nod my head and said "yup!" he smiles and lays quickly on his pillow saying "thank you mom!" like i just gave him the best remedy even tho it was just an imaginary hiccup problem. hahaha. he is so funny!

I go to shut the door to his room and he jumps out of bed and says "I can't go to sweep mom!" "why not?" i ask him, "I can't go to sweep, my eyes hurt". I tell him that he needs to go to bed because we have to wake up early in the morning. "no no no- my eyes will hurt me! i stay awake and my eyes won't hurt me, ok?" "no Matthew, your eyes only hurt you when you don't sleep a long time so you better go to sleep NOW so your eyes don't hurt in the morning!"

he's still convinced that staying up all night will be the only way to prevent him from a painful wake up at 6:45 tomorrow morning. lol. I tell him, "goodnight booger boy" he laughs and says "goodnight booger mommy! hahahaha"

I love my kids!

McDonald's Surprise

So... you know how @ some Mcdonald's you have 2 lanes to choose in the drive thru? Well, when I was done placing my order, I let up the brake just a tiny bit and had to stop again suddenly because I noticed the 'other' car had finished her order at the same time as me. I peered at her order screen and noticed that she only order a few items totaling $3.30. Not really knowing 'who' was technically 1st- I figured she should go ahead of me so she can get her small order before I get my large one. (Besides... after an 11 hour work day- what the heck would 2 minutes more matter?) When the line started to move, she motioned for me to 'go-ahead' and I gave her the same motion back, letting her know that she can go-ahead of me. We did this back and forth to each-other a couple of times as our smiles got bigger... we probably felt pretty silly. But she ended up taking my offer and went ahead of me. The next thing you know, I can see she's telling something to the guy at the drive thru window as she points in my direction. He looks back at me and then back at her with a strange look on his face. He hands her some change back and she moves forward to get her dinner. As I pull up to the window he tells me, "Your total is $14.79 and the kind lady in front of you took care of it - she wanted me to tell you Happy New Year." :oD I was so tickled!!!! I took $7 of my cash (so I wouldn't have to break the $20 bill I had) and said, well- if we weren't hurting so badly, I'd like to pay-it-forward by paying for the guy's order behind me (he had an $7.86 total). The young mcdonald's kid smiled and I drove up, grabbed our family's dinner and followed the lady outside the parking lot to give her a BIG thank you. :oD I'll never forget you Tess! You just made my week!!!!
