Jan 3rd - On the floor

"Keep it elevated" they say

Or it'll slow the healing down

"Only walk to use the restroom"

So I'm gonna be bedroom-bound

The rebel girl in me 

tried to test my limits tho

As soon as I put it on-the-floor

I felt my throbbing toe

It screamed "get back in bed you fool!

Can't you feel that pain?!?"

So I've laid here bored in bed all day

Trying to stay sane. 

I watched a few old musicals, 

I've slept an awful lot.

Sometimes my body's freezing

Sometimes I get real hot.

So I'm gonna post some pictures 

Probably more than I should plus 1 more

Anything to keep me from

Being tempted to walk on-the-floor.

Jan 2nd - "Yellow"

We drove a yellow vehicle

To get to the hospital

When we got inside we noticed

 couches with yellow pillows

I gave the nurse a cup

with something yellowish inside

Instead of being a yellow chicken

I was brave and only cried

The walls had yellow flowers

Painted leaning right and left

Gave my yellow purse to hubby

and he held it while I slept

After removing my small tumor

it was yellow small and white

the doc seem fascinated

as he held it up to a yellow light

as hubby drove me home

i drank water from a yellow cup

i waddled inside like a yellow duck 

And he propped my foot right up

Dear friends brought lots of food

Some yellow, red and green

It's not until this poem I realize

How much yellow I'd seen!

Jan 1st - "I am here... "

I am here instead of sitting

Aren't you proud of me?

I'm dancing with my daughter 

the day before surgery

The song is called "So Fancy"

I feel silly but so right

I put exercise on hold for now

But I'm sure working up a sweat tonight!

Go ahead and laugh, it's ok

I was laughing at me too

I'm just happy that I am here right now

We were driving home and I heard 6-year-old Matthew and 4-year-old Brooklyn talking about getting married to EACHOTHER! 

It was too cute NOT to share!

I just found out that I got the job I applied for, I start after the 3-day weekend!

But oh no- this means I will no longer be a Stay-at-Home-Mom! I've been doing it for about a year... so it's not like a huge change for me. I really do miss going into work every day and interacting with other HUMANS, you know? lol 

I really do love staying home with my kids. I have been blessed to have a part-time job where I can work from home. But soon I will be starting my job at the City and having to leave my kids in daycare every day. My heart is going to hurt!

I will capture a couple brief moments of my time at home with them. Things I want to remember forever. 

The video starts off with Matthew interrupting my moment with Brooklyn. He thinks he is so cute - saying words like "I feel dumb and you being stupid" but look how cutie patootie little Miss Brooklyn is saying that she loves everyone "one hundred million". lol 

It's like they are competing for my attention. 

Then he is sure to interject with ... "and I love you... one hundred million."

and when I ask 4 year old little Brooklyn "what about people that are not in the family" she is sure to tell me that she doesn't love them "one hundred million."

Of course, I had to give Matthew his 50 seconds of fame... only because it's hilarious. 

He doesn't know the difference between "Ass and Axe" - so he uses them interchangeably.

He is, after all, only 5 years old - as he dances and swishes his ninja weapons around singing "cut some axe, cut some axe" 

it's too cute, you have to watch for yourself. 

Some days are rough I'm going to miss these moments when they're gone, hence why I am filming them now.

A new job will be rough in and of itself, CHOOSING to take this job is almost like CHOOSING to leave my kids every day and I'm not sure I like that feeling. But we really need the extra income and I really can't stand working for Homelovers... it's been ok, but I want to work for a more reputable company. You know? 

Anyhoo - I'm excited, but I am really going to miss the crazy, daily antics of these two little monkies! 

day 1, of bed rest

it's only 12:30 in the afternoon and i have to get up and go pee again for the 4th time already.

what is it about laying down that makes the bladder so weak? maybe it's because i can't wiggle and move and distract myself in bed as easily as i can when i'm up and about.

i feel like such a lazy slob laying here... donna's watching my kids, getting them their breakfast, lunch and now playing with them. the doc told me to stay in bed for 6 weeks yet, when i called her right now- she didn't even give a damn enough to speak to me directly. having edith answer my question for me and it wasn't even an answer. :o(

i'm so mad at that office right now, i'm considering switching primary doctors.

Not Over You... but it's too late to Apologize

If I could dive into my brother's heart and soul- I think he would find this 'masterpiece' of mine to be SPOT ON with his thoughts and emotions.

After 7 years of laughter and tears, his wife has decided to leave him to go 'find herself'. I hope it's just "THE ITCH" and she'll come back soon and make things right, but then again... sometimes it's just better to move on.
